My Inaugural Foodie Friday Posting

When I was younger I used to stay with my grandparents during the summer. Every day for lunch we would have a salad as a side dish. Grandma always made her own dressing, and I've been addicted ever since the first taste. It's great on salads and sandwiches. It's pretty simple, and very tasty!

Grandma's Salad Dressing

1/3 medium onion-grated
1/4 cup chili sauce
1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
1 bell pepper-grated
1 small jar pimento-mashed
1 cup celery chopped fine
1 tsp sugar
1 cup mayonnaise (or more to taste)

Combine all ingredients and refridgerate until used.....ENJOY!

Why is coming up with a title such a chore?

I'm in a slump...can you tell? Lately I've had absolutely no desire to knit, crochet, sew, or craft. I would say that my creative juices just aren't flowing, but it's more like my motivational juices that have run dry. I search for patterns and yarns. Hell, I even broke out the graph paper and started graphing out a pattern for a table covering to go outside. I just can't muster the will to put hook/needles to yarn. Same thing happened this time last year, too. I'm ready to get things moving again. This lack of motivation has crept into my non-crafty life too. Lately, I've been slacking in the housework department too. And I can't stand a messy house! At any rate, I did join the Foodie Friday webring. I already have my recipe picked out for this weeks installment. No hints, you'll just have to wait. [insert evil laugh here]

"She's crafty and she's just my type!"...Beastie Boys

You may know me as Yarn Junkie, but I am a lover of all things crafty and D.I.Y.!! Since I have no fibery news to report this morning I thought I'd share some of my crafty internet findings. First up is a blog. It's called Art for Housewives. It's over there in my blogroll---> I stumbled across it a while ago now. I'm no good with explaining things, so here is a description of this blog, directly from this blog..."Arte Per Massaie... the purpose of this weblog is to collecet information related to women, art and the home. You know, housewife stuff. And because recycling begins at home, our motto is make art not trash!" It is updated regularly and often I've found myself saying..."Why didn't I think of that?!" or "How in the hell did they do that?!" or "I want that!!" ...you get the idea. I was mentioned over there once....why, I don't know, but that was a nice ego-stroker! There are some really great things over there so go check it out!

The next order of business, is a crafty recycling project. I'm not sure how I stumbled across this one, it may have actually come from the above mentioned site. At any rate, here it is in all it's glory...

And guesses as to what it's made out of? Hmmmmmm? Would you believe me if I told you it used to be a tire?! Some folks might see this as being tacky...I'll admit, I kinda did at first, but now I'm in love! Not only is it a fun planter, but it's made from a freaking tire, it'll last forever, it's not clogging up a landfill, and it took some serious genius/muscle to create this beauty!! Wanna see more? Click Here!

That's all for now...HAPPY CRAFTING!
