Kick Me

Let me just bend over right now and receive my well deserved ass kicking. I was in WalMart the other day when I saw the latest issue of Interweave Knits Crochet. Of course I ran right over and drooled all over it. I flipped through it but put it back. Now I keep asking myself why I did that. I had very good and very real practical/financial/self-restraint reasons. I regret it all now. I really liked what I saw. Some of it left me scratching my head, but that's to be expected with any needle craft publication. Oh well, maybe I'll get it online sometime. I don't have a good enough excuse to drive back to WalMart to get it and I'm sure when I do, it will be gone. Click HERE to see a preview of what's inside.
Another publication that is on newsstands right now with an ode to crochet is Family Circle Easy Crochet. I have yet to track one down in my town, though. I doubt I will. I was looking HERE at a preview of the projects and they didn't really do much for me. I would like to flip through one though. I'm keeping my eyes peeled. (<--that little phrase always gave me the creeps...sounds a bit painful!)

The Big O-N-E!!!

artwork by me!

Well folks, I have reached a sort of milestone. One year ago this very weekend my mother taught me to crochet. It kicked my ass at first but before long I kicked it's ass back. I will forever be grateful to my mother for teaching me and passing on the art.
