You may know me as Yarn Junkie, but I am a lover of all things crafty and D.I.Y.!! Since I have no fibery news to report this morning I thought I'd share some of my crafty internet findings. First up is a blog. It's called
Art for Housewives. It's over there in my blogroll---> I stumbled across it a while ago now. I'm no good with explaining things, so here is a description
of this blog, directly
from this blog..."
Arte Per Massaie... the purpose of this weblog is to collecet information related to women, art and the home. You know, housewife stuff. And because recycling begins at home, our motto is make art not trash!" It is updated regularly and often I've found myself saying..."Why didn't I think of that?!" or "How in the hell did they do that?!" or "I want that!!" ...you get the idea. I was mentioned over there once....why, I don't know, but that was a nice ego-stroker! There are some really great things over there so go check it out!
The next order of business, is a crafty recycling project. I'm not sure how I stumbled across this one, it may have actually come from the above mentioned site. At any rate, here it is in all it's glory...
And guesses as to what it's made out of? Hmmmmmm? Would you believe me if I told you it used to be a tire?! Some folks might see this as being tacky...I'll admit, I kinda did at first, but now I'm in love! Not only is it a fun planter, but it's made from a freaking tire, it'll last forever, it's not clogging up a landfill, and it took some serious genius/muscle to create this beauty!! Wanna see more?
Click Here! That's all for now...HAPPY CRAFTING!

Cool site~ Recently, the township I live in, bought $18,000 worth of tire mulch for the playground. Stuff smells kinda rubbery, but it's so cushy on the feet (and asses and everything else that hits the ground there)
Cool planter! My uncle makes horse swings from old tires. :)
That is so freakin cool!
That's awesome! Love how vibrant it is.
